1. Hey, I’m sorry I haven’t written a tour update, but I was offering a minor play-by-play via my twitter.

At the moment we’re driving home through the USA, and we’re taking a slightly longer route. Tomorrow, I’m taking the band to a secret location just off of the I-90. I’m excited for them to have a close encounter with this place.

I’m really looking forward to getting home to work on new material, new art outside of music directly, and to see Maureen.

  3. Over the years, I’ve grown to become a Leonard Cohen fan.  Honestly, it took a while. For years I liked “Songs from a Room”, and his first album, “Songs of Leonard Cohen” was next.  This past summer, his 80’s work really resonated with me, the albums “Various Positions” and “I’m Your Man”.

When Halifax based blog Herohill asked me to contribute a Cohen cover for a compilation, I jumped on the oportunity. So, I covered “The Law”.

You can download the whole mix here:

Also, I’m playing an acoustic, ukulele set at New City tonight here in Edmonton.  Feel free to pop in, take a listen, and wish me luck before I disappear into a world of exams and final papers (this is my LAST SEMESTER!)

  5. Thank you, Edmonton.

Last night at Wunderbar was really quite a treat. Martyrs & Royal Canoe were fantastic, and so were you. The whole room was great.

    Thank you!

This ballet with a car lamp evolved and developed over my tour this summer. So, I’ve been doing this dance in grungy bars & cafes & now it can be yours to see on the internet.

On Saturday, January 21 I’ll be playing at the Pawn Shop here in Edmonton opening for Regina’s fantastic band Library Voices. And some old friends of mine, The Fight, are also on the bill.

My backing band will be comprised of familiar faces: Jess, Mitch, Rene, Mo, and Liam helping on lights & such.

I’ll let you in on a little secret: I’m very excited about this show!

2011 has been the best year of my life. I said the same thing last year, but it holds true! Without a doubt, I’ve been growing as a person all around, and have had the joy of sharing my life with Maureen and my awesome circle of friends. Even though I’m sick at this moment, I’ve never felt better.
I’d rather not make a list, but there are a lot of people to thank for making my life so great.
And you’re one of them.
Thank you! See you next year!

  10. The story of Rarg has haunted me for 20 years, but I never knew the title and just found it again.  I originally saw it on Long Ago and Far Away, a story show hosted by James Earl Jones on PBS in the late 80’s.  The idea of your dreams being sentient and self aware has stayed with me, and I often imagine worlds within worlds.

For example; isn’t it interesting how solar systems kind of look like atoms?

Somewhat related to the video; when I was a child I often wondered if my life was just someone else’s dream. Or that if it were my own dream, that I might wake up in a completely foreign body.
